People are clinging to a ray of hope…I’ve seen a lot of it this year.

Living through two years of a global pandemic, clinging to the life within, looking forward to another day, even when things look bleak…and they have been, for many.

What is hope, and why is it such a shining edge of the human spirit?

I love this quote by Emily Dickinson.

“Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul and sings the tune without the words and never stops at all.” – Emily Dickinson.

Standing in our corner is a light and beautiful voice if we choose to listen. When things look impossible, and situations seem stormy..we run into those dark and scary places within ourselves. Strangely, though, I’ve always been watchful of this: the bleaker the road, the stronger the hope.

As you begin, there’s a slight madness in the journey in business, a little naive and optimistic. Rough and tumble weather arrives soonish, and if you’ve got a penchant for adventure, this is the place to be.

Business building is an exercise in meeting your most hopeful self. Every day, it’s a conversation with one of two people; the fearful you, and then there’s the bright and hope-filled you.

As most businesses run through their patterns, it’s always hope within you that inspires you to take leaps to reject rejection. Make another foray and show up to build the life you’re intensely in love with. And love itself will demand the best of you—the very best of your heart, resilience, focus, and caring.

The last two years have been a labour of love for me; I feel like I’ve birthed a business, and I’m a mama hen, watching over this thing that seems to have a life of its own.

When I look back, it’s always those moments of hope that led me to places of possibility and joy and fulfilment…and when I look forward, I know that hope is the very portal that will guide me to what’s next.
