Why I love Creative Mornings Sydney

Creative Mornings Sydney takes place on the last week of every month, follow them on @sydney_cm on IG!

If you don't know what Creative Mornings is, it's a global movement that brings together people who love to make things. The Sydney chapter started in 2008 and has grown from a group of 25 people who met at a pub every month to over 1,000 members in 2019. This chapter is run by the amazing Nicole Velik of the Ideas Bodega.

It's also become one of Sydney's best-loved creative communities. At each morning meeting, there is always an invited guest speaker. They speak about their creative journeys and how they got started in their field—it can be anything from photography to travel writing or even beer brewing!

I love Creative Mornings because it’s a great way to meet new people, hear about their story and how they got started, learn from their experiences and get inspired. The speakers are always really interesting and inspiring too! I also love that you can learn something new every month – like cooking or photography – and then go home and try it yourself. Creative Mornings is definitely one of my favourite meetups in Sydney.

The speaker lineup is stellar, you'll always find someone inspiring to listen to.

The speakers are a mix of local and international creatives, each with their own unique story and approach to creativity.

It's possible that you will leave the event feeling inspired by one particular speaker or another - after all, they're leaders in their field and most of them have been doing this for years!

In many cases, I’ve discovered that we have a lot more in common than most people would ever guess. Their journeys all start from a simple insight or idea, and they’ve got the courage to take that idea all the way to fruition.

There's coffee and croissants, what's not to love?

The coffee is great and the croissants are top notch. You can get a good coffee at a cafe, but there's nothing like the coffee at Creative Mornings.

You get to meet the people behind some great brands, organisations and initiatives.

They are often running businesses that make a positive impact on society, or they’re doing their part to address some of the world’s biggest problems.

They also tell you about themselves — how they started out and what led them to where they are today.

Creative Mornings creates a common meeting point for creative people to hear from other creative people in a relaxed setting with (free!) coffee and croissants.

As a creative person, it can be difficult to find time to meet other people who share your interests. Creative Mornings Sydney is a place for the creatives of Sydney to come together and hear from guest speakers who are both inspiring and relatable. It's easy to strike up conversations with like-minded people over coffee and croissants, which is why I love going.

Creative Mornings Sydney is an incredible event. Any creative person should attend this event at least once!
